About me

Hi there :)

My name is Eliza Hennekens, born in the Netherlands but now living in Switzerland. I'm a singer and multi-instrumentalist, playing piano, saxophone, flute, guitar and drums.

Inspired by my father, who's been working in the professional music business for more than 35 years now, I started playing piano at the age of 5. Later, around the age of 9, I started playing soprano saxophone. At first in the local fanfare, but later on more focusing on Jazz and pop music and adding Alto and Tenor saxophone to my instruments.

After secondary school, at the age of 16, I went to the Maastricht Music Academy, combining "Classical & Jazz piano" (Master) and "Composing & Arranging" (Bachelor) studies. Since I did only 2 years, it means that I graduated for piano (Master degree), but not for composing and arranging, which needs an additional 3rd year. Never did I have any real ambitions to become a professional musician, but I've always wanted to understand and make music on a professional level, even if it was only as a hobby.
With this background, I later taught myself how to play guitar, drums and flute and also took some additional singing lessons, to become a more complete musician/singer.

As I'm not very keen on having many obligations in life, especially if it's for a hobby, I make music whenever I want and feel like. Some periods more than others, but never in a band or orchestra.
Through my father, I have done some assignments as a session musician/studio musician for various projects in the past, such as commercial music and movie soundtracks.
However, most of all I prefer to make music on my own and at home, just for fun...

Therefore, this website is not intended to be used for any commercial purposes, but it's just a personal website about what I like, what I do and what I use.
